Sohoton Cave

This famous aerie cove is passable only during low tide through a 40-meter cave-like entrance.  Inside this serene spot are a number of rock islets covered with exotic flora that resemble dish gardens.  Numerous caves may also be found in the lagoon and Hagukan is one of these.  This one-of-a-kind cave offers a grand presentation of majestic stalactites on its ceiling while you are swimming on its sea floor.  The opening to such cave is also only passable during verylow tide and one has to surface dive if one wishes to still enter the cave during high tide.  Another exciting cave in the lagoon is the Magkukuob, so named because of the gesture of bowing down low ("kuob") as if paying respect to the fairies and be welcomed by the unique singing of the small species of bats locally found in the area.  Abunohan and Bolitas are also most wanted caves inside the lagoon.  Bayanihan (Tinabangay) system in 1953 by Don Albino B. Taruc and refurbished in 1997 under the leadership of his son, Hon. Dominador L. Taruc
